The Louisa-Muscatine School Board met yesterday to receive the initial bargaining proposal from the L&M Education Associations. The proposal included extending sick days so that employees could use them when grandchildren are sick and not just children. It also includes an additional bereavement day to be granted in the case of a death of a loved one. The proposed general staff adjustment rate was 3.23%. This is merely the initial bargaining proposal, which was presented to the school board on Wednesday morning in the school administration offices.
