Tuberculosis Remains a Threat despite Medical Advances

Tomorrow is World TB Day, a day to highlight the importance of a disease that is still prevalent even though there have been great strides in detection and treatment of it.Tuberculosis is a contagious disease that spreads through the air and if left untreated, an infected person could infect on average between ten to 15 people each year.  Chrystal Woller with Washington County Public Health says many people will get a TB test upon a pre-employment or college physical.  She says what they do at Public Health if a person is found to have an active case.

Woller mentions how many cases there has been over the last 12 years.
