The Washington City Council met late into the evening last night to pass the fiscal year 2013 budget.  A public hearing was held at the beginning of the budget discussion as required by the state.  Members of the public shared concerns about the increasing of the taxes and suggested less spending be done in the city.

Many line items were specifically discussed including requests from outside interests.  The council made the decision to maintain the current year’s funding to these interests.

Also during last night’s meeting, a loan agreement of general obligation capital loan notes was entered and the notes will not exceed $250,000.  To see the entire city budget passed, contact Washington City Hall.
