Wellman Water Service to be Turned off Tomorrow

The city of Wellman has announced that they will be turning off water to the entire city beginning at 1:00 tomorrow afternoon until 6:00 tomorrow evening.  City Administrator Nick Pacha says this is necessary for the installation of four new water valves near the water tower.

He says residents are also asked to use water conservation methods by filling up bathtubs, and other storage devices in an effort to conserve water when the water is turned off.  This will help in the restarting of the water system.

Pacha adds when service is restored a boil order is estimated to be in effect until Saturday afternoon. KCII will provide more information regarding this story when it becomes official.

Customers should:

• Bring water to a rolling boil for 2 minutes.

• Allow water to cool before using.

• Store cooled water in a clean container with a cover.

Customers should use cooled, boiled water or bottled water for:

• Drinking.

• Brushing teeth

• Preparing and cooking food

• Making ice

• Giving water to pets
