Washington County 4-H members have another chance to attend a course in food safety and quality. Amy Green, Washington County 4-H/Youth Coordinator says more than 80 members attended the last session of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Training class taught by ISU Swine Specialist Tom Miller and ISU Livestock Specialist Byron Leu.
She says all Washington County 4-H members are required to attend this session if they plan to show livestock that may enter the food chain. Green adds following these good practices will lead to healthy animals which will lead to safe food for consumers.
She notes intermediate and senior members who would like to take the test may do so before the class begins. The training will be held Thursday at 6:30 at the Extension Office with the test being given at 5:30.
