The Washington County Board of Supervisors heard quarterly reports as part of their meeting yesterday.  Reports were presented by the Washington County Sheriff, County Recorder and County Auditor.  All three shared that revenues were comparable to this time last year.

Discussion was held regarding the law enforcement contracts for next fiscal year.  The funding for the communities in Washington County was based off the old formula.  The new formula will be used for next year’s contracts.

A good portion of the meeting was regarding discussion of the Richmond Sewer Project.  Representatives from the Regional Utility Service Systems, Garden Associates and the Department of Natural Resources were on hand to give a presentation of the status of the project.

Members of the public expressed concern stating this project is not needed.  All of the Supervisors noted they are following through with what was decided by previously elected Supervisors and they have a deadline to meet of finishing the project or face several penalties which could cost the citizens of the county more money.

Law enforcement contracts for Washington County Communities:

Ainsworth $5479, Brighton $21,952, Crawfordsville $8556, Kalona $74,233, Riverside $41,032, Wellman $46,391, West Chester $5526
