The Washington County Board of Supervisors held two public hearings as part of their meeting yesterday.  The first hearing was for vacating part of a county road in Cedar Township.  This road is located off 210th Street in the southeastern part of the township.  County Engineer Jacob Thorius explains why they are vacating the road.

A second hearing was for approval of a minor plat.  The minor plat was for the Byerly Cattle Company.  The Supervisors also approved the fiscal year 2013 Iowa Department of Transportation budget as well as the five year road plan.

County Engineer Thorius says he has to send a copy of his county budget and the road plan to the state.  The Supervisors also approved a bid letting for a paving project.
