Two fishermen in Louisa County find a body in an area waterway over the weekend.  According to the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, a call was received at 2:38 Saturday afternoon of a body being found in the Iowa River south of the Highway 70 bridge.  The body of the male subject was taken to the Department of Criminal Investigation Crime Lab where an autopsy was completed.

Crews from the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, Columbus Junction Police Department, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the Iowa State Patrol along with the Columbus Junction Fire and Rescue, Louisa County Medical Examiner and Columbus Junction Ambulance responded to the scene.

The investigation into the identity is continuing with the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, Columbus Junction Police Department and the state medical examiner’s office. KCII will follow this story and bring you more information when it becomes official.
