This is National Volunteer Week and the ISU Extension is saluting volunteers across the state and here in Washington County.  Washington County 4-H and Youth Coordinator Amy Green says special thank you notes will be sent to the nearly 200 volunteers who helped to serve as club leaders, project leaders, superintendents, committee members or assistants at the fair. She adds volunteers have a tremendous impact on 4-H in Washington County by combining education, communication, leadership and fun.

Green notes volunteers are involved in every aspect of the county extension service, including determining the needs of the residents, planning programs, securing resources and evaluating programs.  If you would like to be a volunteer with the Washington County 4‑H program, contact Amy Green at the Washington County Extension.
