The Highland Huskies’ girls’ track team took first place at the Lone Tree Invitational on Monday, posting 153 points to top the host and second place Lady Lions.  WACO finished in third in the seven-team meet with New London in fourth and Keota in fifth followed by Iowa Mennonite and Tri-County.

IMS junior Anya Slabaugh cleared 4’10” in the high jump to place second in the event.  That mark eclipses her previous best of 4’8” set last year.  Slabaugh also placed fourth in the 200 (29.41).  Sophomore Michaela Prihoda placed second in the long jump with a jump of 14’3” and fourth in the 100 meter dash with a season best time of 13.84.  Abbie DeWild recorded a personal best leap in the long jump of 13’2”.
