Both Iowa Mennonite and Highland remained undefeated in boys’ soccer yesterday after wins over Danville and Central Lee respectively. After a disappointing co-ed soccer season last year that led to an 0-9 record, the Highland Huskies have started this year on a high note, winning their first two matches, including a 4-3 overtime win last night against Central Lee. Junior Cameron Vinsand led the way for Highland with two goals and two assists in the OT win. Josh Brace added a goal and an assists as well. Next up for the Huskies is Columbus on Thursday.
The Iowa Mennonite soccer team got an early goal from Peyton Thompson and a late first half goal from Dillon Bender to take a 2-0 lead into the locker room that would be extended late in the second half to 3-0 on a Chance Miller goals as IMS shuts out Danville 3-0.
