Tommy Rhodes netted his first career hat trick last night for IMS en-route to a 6-0 shutout of Central Lee that pushed IMS’s record to 6-1 and 5-0 in conference play.
Rhodes started the scoring early and IMS held the 1-0 lead until late in the first half when they would explode with three goals in the final few minutes.
Matt Libby made it 2-0 on a shot from just outside the box before Rhodes picked up his second score after weaving through the defense and sliding the ball home. Justin Boller set up Nicholas Yoder’s first score this season to make it 4-0 at the end of the half.

Dillon Bender added a goal in the second half to make it 5-0, pouncing on a rebound as IMS continued to apply pressure. Rhodes would add the final tally with the helper from Reggie Hostetler.
The defense, anchored by Chris Perez, and keeper Ben Brenneman combined with Joel Shetler, notched the fourth IMS shutout this season
IMS travels to Burlington Notre Dame Thursday for a rematch with the Nikes. IMS defeated Notre Dame 3-0 back on the 17th.
