The IMS soccer team lost to 2nd-ranked Solon on Saturday 1-0 dropping their record to 5-1.
The Spartans broke the scoreless game in the 35th minute of the first half and the two teams continued to lock their defensive end down the rest of the way with IMS goalie Ben Brenneman stopping six shots on goal in the half to keep his team in the game.
Despite the loss, IMS still sits at 4-0 in conference play and takes to the road Tuesday at Central Lee and squares off again against Burlington Notre Dame Thursday, a team IMS beat 3-0 last week in Kalona.
IMS will host a tournament this Saturday where after the first game, at approximately 11:15, they will dedicate the new soccer dug outs built with money from the Jason Marner Memorial Fund.
