The Iowa Legislature is set to wrap up on the 17th, but with many issues still to cover, they might have to extend that date. Many bills have been passed this year, but some of the biggest bills are still not settled. Mental health reform and education reform are still up for debate. Both the House and Senate have passed vastly different versions of these bills, and there is a lot of ground to cover before a final version of these bills is decided on.

Senator Sandy Greiner says she’s not sure if they will be done by the planned date. Greiner says as well that both sides need to be willing to compromise to get done on time. Even with compromise, it will still be down to the wire. With the House now debating a bill regarding public funding of abortions, lawmakers may not be finished by next Tuesday as planned.
