Operation Backpack, a group which provides backpacks full of food to children in need, will be hosting the event, Musicians Against Hunger, on today. Local elementary and high school students will be performing along with the Praise Band, along with many other bands and musicians, at the United Presbyterian Church from 1:30 to 4:00. The event is free but free will donations will be accepted at the door. The Coffee Corner will provide coffee and other refreshments for those in attendance. The group, Operation Backpack, currently sponsors 46 children with the funds raised from last years event, but they have many more children eligible and hope to sponsor them all with the funds raised this year. If you cannot attend the event but would like to donate, you send those donations to Mrs. Kennedy at Washington High School.
