This is National Public Safety Telecommunications Week, a week which honors those who answer emergency calls, dispatch emergency personnel and equipment and render life-saving assistance to the citizens across the nation.  Here in Washington County, there are 11 telecommunicators with over 118 years of experience.  Two operators, Michael Powers and Sandy Lovetinsky say they are the true first responder when it comes to an emergency situation.

They both say that no two days are the same and there have been good and bad days.  Both Powers and Lovetinsky agree their job is rewarding and have enjoyed their time at the Washington County Safety Center.
