Drivers will not be able to access one road in east-central Washington County starting today.  Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius says 175th Street from Vine Avenue east to the Washington-Louisa County line will be closed to thru traffic for construction and resurfacing.

This work is part of the county’s comprehensive road improvement project started last year.  Construction is expected to last approximately three months depending on the weather.

The contract for the project was awarded to Cornerstone Excavating of Washington for just under $493,000.
