The Mid-Prairie boys golf team hosted the 2012 Hawk Invitational at the Kalona Golf Course Tuesday night. Out of eleven teams the Knights of North Cedar took home the team title with their score of 319. Jace Koenig of Durant was the meet champion with his score of 76.Mid-Prairie posted the highest finish of any area team with their score of 337 finishing in 4th place. The Golden Hawks were led by medalist Devon Young with his score of 81 in the 18 hole event. Other scores for Mid-Prairie included Caleb Lampe and Wyatt Murphy at 84, Jared Gent carding an 88, Trever Owens firing a 98 and Tyler Davis finishing at 115.
Winfield Mt. Union took 7th in the 11 team field with a team total of 356 led by a low round of 81 from Jake Edwards. Other scores for the Wolves included Brody Heying shooting 84, Klayton Booth finishing with an 88, Lucus Rappernecker carded 103, Eric Spencer shot 110 and Thayne McElhinny fired 115.
The Lone Tree Lions were 10th in the field with a team score of 432 led by a 100 from Levi Saterfield. Other Lone Tree scores included Kyle Gardner at 106, James Lorack with a 109, Harry Miller carded a 117, Andy Dodson finished at 124 and Ethan Abbot finished at 157.
The IMS boys golf team rounded out the 11 team field with a score of 526 led by a 115 from Brent Brenneman. Other scores for Iowa Mennonite School include Zach Hill at 135, Ben Miller finishing at 137, Jordan Miller at 139, Thaddeus Yoder shooting 141, and Richard Deming finishing with a 151.
