Mediapolis took the top spot but three area teams came away with good showings at the WACO girls relays Tuesday night. The Bullettes compiled a team score of 167 to take the title, the runner-up Highland Huskies scored 118 points, Winfield Mt. Union tallied 88 points in 3rd place and WACO finished 4th in the eight team field with 77 team points.
Highland took home individual event titles with Cheyenne Flory in the 200m dash with a time of 26.93 seconds, Chelsey Lampe in the 800m run with a time of 2:35.93 and Morgan Craig in the discus with a throw of 90’ 8”. The Huskies also took the top spot in the 4x200m and 4x800m relays.
Winfield Mt. Union got first place performances from Lou Krieger-Coen in the shot put with a toss of 30’ 3” and the 4x100m shuttle hurdle relay .
The best finishes for WACO included runner up finishes in the high jump from Rosemary Skriver and also the 4x800m relay, distance medley, and 4x100m shuttle hurdle relay.
