The City of Keota held their City Council this past week. The engineering firm in charge of the Davis Street water main project, French Reneker, was present. According to City Clerk Niki Osweiler the representative gave an update on the project, discussed grants available to the city, and also went over some new DNR regulations.

Another topic covered at the meeting was the pool. The city owns the pool and usually rents it out, but this year they will be running it. The pool started getting filled on Wednesday, and unless there’s an issue, will open on Monday.

The meeting also went over a city-wide cleanup. The City will collect scrap metal and appliance, which will be given to McDonald Boneyard. The money made from the metal will be given back to the city to be used for park equipment.
