The Community Blood Drive held in Winfield had a good turnout Wednesday. The drive was hosted by the Winfield Lions Club in partnership with Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center. There was a goal put in place to get 21 units of blood, they received 20.

According to Chriss Heyd with Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center one pint of blood equals one unit; just one unit can save up to 3 lives, so the 20 units donated in Winfield can save up to 60 lives.

The next blood drive happening in the area will be held at the Wayland City Hall on June 14th from 1:30-6:30.
