The Crop and Weather report for last week has been released and with the help of dry and warmer weather, Iowa saw widespread planting of corn and soybeans. Corn planting advanced 26 percent to 90 percent complete. And Farmers statewide planted nearly one-third of the expected soybean crop.
Last week there were 5 days suitable for farm work, that’s compared to 1 and a half days the week before. 83 percent of farm fields in this part of the state have adequate moisture, while 13 percent has a surplus of water. Southeast Iowa received the most amount of precipitation with most of it coming on Sunday the 6th.
