For the second time this year the IMS boys soccer team took on the #2 ranked team in the state on the soccer pitch in Kalona, and for the second time this year Iowa Mennonite came out on the short end of a 1-0 score, this time falling to the Runnin’ Regals of Iowa City Regina. The lone goal of the contest came in the 21st minute as forward A.J. Adam took advantage of an IMS defensive breakdown to beat goalkeeper Ben Brenneman. Head Coach Marcus Miller highlighted possession as being key in the Regal’s goal. IMS came out and put more pressure on the Regals in the second half but were not able to dent the scoreboard despite some great scoring chances including a Levi Schrock header. With the loss #8 IMS falls to 10-2 on the season and will be in Southeast Iowa Superconference action Thursday at Columbus.
