The Washington boys track team will run for a chance at state tonight in Mt. Pleasant. Demons head coach Steve Roth says he expects the meet to go very well, especially for his relays.

“All six relays are all ready to go,” Roth said. “ The shuttle is outstanding, our time last week, if we run that time tonight we’ll get in. The 4×200, 4×400, the 4x800m relay, the 4×800 is running fantastic. All the relays should be right there, we’re sitting second or third in all of them.”

The Demons finished third in the conference meet last week, but had conference medalists in the long with Alex Coker and Jake Redlinger in the high jump. The Demons will see many of the same teams today, but Roth puts today’s meet in a different perspective.

“We just have to run fast,” Roth said. “Last we ran for places, this week we have to run fast, we can;t have an glitches, we have to get the baton around. We’ve just have to do things we’ve been doing for the last part of the year.”

The District meet starts at 4 p.m.
