A local business is getting ready to help hospital stays more comfortable for sick children.  The Washington Wal-Mart is kicking off their annual fund raising drive to help support the Children’s Miracle Network.  Sarah Adkins, with the Children’s Miracle Network at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital says the money that is raised helps to fund research, special size equipment for the children, educational material for the parents, and enhancements to make the hospital visit enjoyable.

She says the Washington Wal-Mart raised over $13,000 during this campaign and adds last year they came in sixth place out of the 75 stores in the Network’s market.  Adkins says all of the funds raised will go to the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.

The fund raising campaign kicks off today and will last through June 15th.
