In an effort to help the Wayland area after last week’s severe weather, Jake Mcvey is throwing a benefit concert. McVey says that when he learned about the weather that had affected the area, he decided to put together a last minute benefit. He also noted the positive response he received from the community getting everything from Pork Producers to take care of food to ServPro handling clean-up.
According to the country musician, he and his team started planning the event Monday and by Tuesday the benefit was organized. Anybody who would like to donate can do so through the Wayland State Bank. Doors open at the old Stockyard in Wayland at 7 tonight, the opening act starts at 8 and Jake McVey will take the stage at 9.
