After trailing 5-0 early the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks rallied to tie the game at five before falling to Mt. Pleasant in nonconference baseball action 11-5 Wednesday night in Wellman. The Panthers built that early lead with three tallies in the first and two more in the second off of Mid-Prairie starter Nick Stimson who lasted just 1 1/3 innings. The Golden Hawk bats came to life in the bottom of the 2nd with a pair of runs sparked by an RBI double from Brandon Aggson. Mid-Prairie would complete the comeback with three more in the third led by an RBI triple from Kyle Mullet. Mt. Pleasant regained control of the game in the 4th with three more runs, going up 8-5 on reliever Spencer Shalla. Mid-Prairie could muster just one more hit the rest of the night while Mt. Pleasant added three more insurance runs in the rain in the 7th. Dustin Amos took the win for the Panthers going six full, allowing six hits five runs, four of them earned and striking out six. Stimson took the loss for Mid-Prairie who was led at the plate by Kyle Mullet who drove in two and scored twice. Mid-Prairie is now 2-3 on the year and will take on North Cedar in conference play as part of a double header tonight.
