A new law signed by Governor Terry Branstad is designed to help grow open records and meetings as well as let the public have more access to information from elected governing bodies.  Washington County Attorney Larry Brock says a board will now be created to try and resolve an issue that has been addressed from the public about a meeting.

He says his office would not be a part of the hearings since this will be a separate board that would be appointed by the Governor and would be subject to Senate confirmation.

This new board could be ready to start by July 1st, and to find out more about this new bill, look at this link.
