A one-day bike ride is getting ready to travel through southeast Iowa tonight.  The “A Fast Ride Across Iowa in a Day” (AFRAID) is a ride of 276 miles in length that will follow Highway 92 from Council Bluffs through Sigourney, Washington and Columbus Junction en route to Muscatine.

Wes Chaplin who is taking part in this ride, first had the idea to ride across the state in one day after many people kept asking him if he was training for RAGBRAI. He first completed the trek in 2008.

The funds from this race go to Bethany Christian Services in Pella to raise the awareness of adoption services available to families.  This one day race will be riding through southeast Iowa tonight.
