The “Pick a Better Snack” program will start its second year at an area school this fall and will also be implemented at another school thanks to a grant.  Once again Tri-County Elementary school will be able to utilize the program that teaches students and faculty the importance of healthy eating habits and physical activity. A grant for $1000 from the Community Health Action Partnership in Keokuk County will make it possible for the program to expand to Sigourney Elementary for the 2012-2013 school year. Along with learning the importance of healthy living, students also have the chance to prepare and taste a variety of fruits and vegetables each session.
