Today’s record high temperature set 45 years ago is in jeopardy of being broken.  WeatherEye Meteorologist Greg Tatro says the cause for the warmer temperatures comes from the a warm front coming into the area as well as warm southerly winds as well as moisture from the Gulf of Mexico.

He adds record temperatures could be broken across much of Iowa.  Tatro says the temperatures will retreat some tomorrow as storms will move through the area.  The record high for today in Washington of 91 was set back in 1967.
