A part of 3rd Street North in Kalona will be closed today and tomorrow. 3rd Street North from B to C Avenue will be closed while crews remove a structure. The structure is an old house that the city acquired last week. The house had fallen into disrepair and had become unsafe.

City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh says that the city plans to put in a grass area and possibly a small park later this fall. The plans were announced at Mondays city council meeting.
