A shooting in Wapello County is currently being investigated by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.  According to Wapello County Sheriff Don Kirkendall, a 911 report was received of an individual possibly being shot at 5:23 Saturday morning.  This incident happened in the 8700 block of Fox Hills Road southwest of Agency.

The victim has been identified as 23 year old Lisa Techel of Agency who is the daughter of a Wapello County Deputy and was employed as a jailer at the Washington County Jail and was a reserve deputy with the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office as well.

An autopsy was conducted yesterday at the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny.  The results of the autopsy are pending and the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are looking into the death at this time.
