The Washington County Riverboat Foundation announced its Competitive Grant Awards Wednesday night for the spring of this year.  WCRF Board President, Tim Putney says almost one point two million dollars in grants was given to 45 applicants for projects around the area that will serve diverse and important needs.

Some of the larger grants awarded were over $104,000 for an in-house MRI machine at Washington County Hospital, the Washington Community School District was awarded over $104,000 for media enabled classrooms in Kindergarten through 8th Grade as well as the Chicaqua Chapter Izaak Walton League receiving over $261,000 for a trail, bridge and pier at Lake Darling.
