The Iowa Department of Transportation has released a transportation map, but this one is for a different mode of transportation.  These new maps show all bike-friendly routes in the state by identifying bike trails and traffic levels for the paved roads.  The map also gives an index of the 16 largest cities showing bike trails, highways major streets and city limits.

This map also shows new four-foot, paved shoulders and trails completed since the last version was published in 2009.  Two southeast Iowa trails listed are the 14-mile Kewash Nature Trail and the 16-mile Jefferson County Trail System.  This new map is available online through the Iowa Department of Transportation’s website.
