Two .500 Teams Square Off

Tonight in Kalona IMS battles the Bulldogs of Mediapolis on the baseball diamond. IMS enters play at 1-1 on the season. Thus far this year they have split a pair of one run games, topping Wapello 2-1 and falling to Lone Tree in a seesaw affair 7-6. Mediapolis started out 2-0 on the season outscoring their opponents 45-0 in those two games before coming back to earth with an 8-3 loss to Washington and an 8-6 loss to Louisa-Muscatine. The two teams split their only two meetings a season ago. Mediapolis is 1st in the state in runs per game led by 7RBI from Forestt Stellern, Jacob Eberhart and Zach Moehle who are batting .500. As a team Mediapolis boasts a .330 team batting average. IMS is led by Cameron Gingerich and his .400 average, Gingerich also has struck out 17 batters in his lone start of the season.
