One of the main focus’s of Wednesday’s Council meeting in Columbus Junction was an update on the water plant project. The project is getting close to breaking ground, but after the most recent bid, the city is looking for more funds. The amount it’s projected to cost is 3.6 million dollars. That’s 400,000 dollars over the amount they have set aside in grant money.
On top of the grant money, the city may need to get a loan for the rest. There was a public hearing for the environmental review process for the project as well.
