Students at the Washington High School heard about volunteerism during an assembly yesterday afternoon. Cassie Creasy with the United Way of Johnson County gave a presentation about the importance of volunteering in the community, getting involved, learning about organizations, and exploring different volunteer opportunities that will suit their skills, interest and time as a high school student.
She notes this is the first high school in Washington County to hear this presentation and adds they are hoping this is the start of a trend for other high schools in the county. Creasy says youth who start to volunteer in life will continue those skills as they grow into adults and will recruit others to volunteer as well.
