The Demon baseball team took home a win last night as well against Mediapolis. Mediapolis came into the game with two wins, both with scores 17 runs or higher. The Demons were not phased though as they scored five runs in the first inning. Head coach Nathan Miller said he was happy with the first inning, but in the latter half of the game his team was swinging at whatever was coming.
“We got a little impatient in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh inning with our bats, our kids were just eager,” Miller said. “They were swinging at pitches that they normally don’t usually swing at the ball is up in the zone and we kind of struggled offensively the last four innings.”
Tanner Knupp came in, in relief and won his first varsity game ever in the 8-3 win. Miller said that pitching was something that really helped win the game against Mediapolis.
The Demons have four days off until the host IC Regina. Miller said he thinks four days is a perfect time off to work on stuff that needs to be fixed and also to give his pitchers a little extra time to rest their arms.
