The Washington boys golf team have punched their tickets to the district meet by winning their regional meet at home Friday. The Demons had three place winners as well at the meet. Head coach Mark Berhow says it was great golf being played.

“Eight teams were there and very ready to play, and thankfully our team was very ready to play, and ended up shooting our best round of the year,” Berhow said. “It was a great opportunity to compete and to be playing our best golf.”

The Demons won the meet with 301 strokes, nine ahead of second place Fairfield. Dillon de Perrot won the meet individually with a 71, while Alex Thode and Brock Kimball tied for fourth with a 74.

Washington will play in Williamsburg next. Berhow said he and some of his players are going to go up and get a practice round in before they play.

The Demons will face Maquoketa, Anamosa, Fairfield and Williamsburg, which according to Berhow are all in the top 20 of golf teams in Iowa.
