The Washington City Council held several hearings as part of their meeting last night.  The first was a third hearing that talked about the 2011 electrical code.  This code hearing was required by the state.

The second reading was for a resolution of support for a Community Development Block Grant.  This grant would be to use left over flood disaster funds and will be used for upper story development.

A second reading of an ordinance to allow golf carts on city streets took place as well.  This second reading included the changes of allowing no one under the age of 18 to drive the carts and they must be equipped with seat belts.  An addition was made to require a slow moving vehicle sign be installed.
