The Washington County SAFE Coalition is joining forces with Drug Free Action Alliance to spread the message that underage drinking is an issue.  The partnership is trying to encourage parents, educators, businesses, and community organizations to learn more about the health and safety risks along with the potential legal ramifications associated with underage drinking. The fine for knowingly hosting an underage drinking party is 500 dollars.

They also want the community to help address the factors that contribute to underage drinking, like community norms and the availability of alcohol.  According to a 2010 survey 65% of 11th graders in Washington County reported that alcohol is easy or very easy to get in their neighborhood or community.
