During their meeting yesterday, the Washington County Board of Supervisors heard an update on the county’s mental health system. Bobbi Wulf, Washington County’s Central Point of Coordination explained the upcoming changes based off recently passed legislation.  Some of the changes include the county assuming payment for residents as well as having to become part of a region of other counties to offer services.

Another change will be in funding from property taxes.  There will be a flat rate across the state which will cause an increase in taxes for residents in Washington County.  This increase will become effective July of next year.

The Supervisors also acknowledged a new 960 animal unit confinement feeding operation.  A resolution was passed to abate $382 in taxes with the Washington County Treasurer.

Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius presented a list of bridges with a change in weight limits as well.  These embargos are put in place after routine inspections have been performed.

A fuel contract with a margin price of $4345 was extended as well.  The margin price remains the same even though the market price may go up and down over the course of the year.  This extension is with Agriland FS.
