Central Iowa Man Dead after Accident on Henry County Lake

An accident at Lake Geode in Henry County has taken the life of a central Iowa man.  According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, around 4:00 yesterday afternoon, a report was received of a possible drowning at Lake Geode near the main boat ramp.   The body of 51 year old Howard James Snider of Nevada was recovered approximately two hours later.

Those assisting in the search and recovery were the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, New London Fire and Rescue, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office and Henry County Health Center EMS.

An investigation into the drowning is being conducted and KCII will bring you more information when it becomes official.
