With spring planting coming to a close, Bill Bartenhagen with the Washington County FSA is reminding producers to report crops and land uses as well as failed acreage. Failed, prevented, and NAP acreage should all be reported to your FSA office. Prevented acreage is acreage that wasn’t planted because of natural disaster and should be reported 15 days after the final planting date of the crop. These can be insured crops or apart of the Non-insured Assistance Program, as well as crops with no insurance.
Failed acreage was planted with the intent to harvest, but due to weather conditions failed before harvest. Form CCC-576 should be completed for eligible acreage.
In general all crops on the farm need to be reported to your FSA office by June 30th.
