A heat advisory is still in effect for the area today. The National Weather Service is reporting heat index values will be in the 100 to 105 degree range late this morning and into the evening.
A stalled frontal boundary remains across the area which will help to set off some strong to severe thunderstorms today and tonight. Any storm could produce damaging winds and large hail with several inches of rainfall because of this airmass.
