A recent report shows home sales in Iowa increased in the month of May however in Washington County, figures show a small decrease.  Charla Howard with Golden Crest Realty says according to the Multiple Listing Service website, there were 34 sales in April and 29 in May.  She adds even though numbers fell in May from April, the market still remains strong.

Howard says this area is seeing properties being listed and sold every week and that activity should remain at that pace through August.  She notes the average price for a sale in the Washington market is just under $100,000.  Howard says it’s always encouraging to see a strong market based on the activity and what is happening.
