Keokuk County Board of Supervisors held a special meeting on Tuesday. According to Keokuk County Auditor Christy Bates purchasing Hazmat gear and signs were the topics of discussion. The Board decided to purchase seven gas monitors for the County Fire Departments. The cost of the gear will be around six thousand dollars.
A decision to put signage on 170th Avenue was made. Signs that read County Road Closed, Private Road, and Enter at Your Own Risk will be placed along the road. 170th Avenue contains an unsafe bridge that has belonged to the property owner for a number of years.
