The Columbus Wildcats stayed alive in the SEISC title race Monday night with a 13-6 softball win over IMS in Columbus Junction. IMS would lead early 1-0 as Casey Perez scored on a Makayla Brush ground out. Columbus responded with four of their own in the bottom of the second on five hits and the Wildcats made it 5-1 with one more tally in the 3rd. IMS would get as close as 5-4 after a three run fourth but Columbus used a six run six hit fourth frame of their own to put the game out of reach. The two teams combined for 19 runs on 22 hits. The Wildcats were led at the plate by Megan Pretz with two hits and three runs scored, Alex Villagrana had two hits, drove in two and scored once. Offensively IMS was led by a hit and two driven in by Hannah Miller. Columbus is now 14-16 overall on the year 11-5 in conference play, IMS falls to 6-15 overall and 4-12 in conference action.
