The National Weather Service is reminding everyone of their online storm spotter classes. These classes are designed as an introduction to storm spotting and as a way to refresh your knowledge. These courses are not intended to replace the spotter training classes offered in the Washington area each spring.
The two classes offered will talk about the role of a spotter and storms. The National Weather Service will offer their in-person spotter training classes in early part of next year.
These classes are similar to ones KCII staff attend to help us prepare and let you as listeners know of severe weather dangers during our Severe Weather Action Team coverage. To learn more about the online spotter classes, look at this information from the National Weather Service.
